The Logotherapy Department of the Health School at AKMI Metropolitan College organized a scientific lecture on "Mood Disorders in Neurological Patients" on April 27th at the College's main lecture theatre. The lecture was addressed to the Logotherapy, Psychology, Physiotherapy and Dietetics students.
On Tuesday, April 24th the students of the Early Childhood Studies department of AKMI Metropolitan College visited the Attica Zoological Park at Spata area and attended a training programme on the awareness of early childhood professionals about environmental issues and animal protection. Students were trained on the structure and setting of interactive training programmes and activities through an experiential workshop by Mrs Gourgourini (biologist, member of the Training Dpt of the park) and a very interesting tour in the Park’s premises.
AKMI Metropolitan College was one of the main sponsors of the 2nd Career Day for Young Lawyers with subject "Choices and Possibilities after Graduation" for the second consequent year, which took place on April 3rd.
On March 26th, the students of the BSc Computing and BSc Computer Networks programmes and their lecturer Mr.Sotirios Pouros visited the premises of the Department of Electronics of the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to identify key issues around the design and operation of the departmental Network Operation Center (NOC), headed by Mr. S. Kyrtopoulos.

AKMI Metropolitan College – in cooperation with the Hellenic Association for Counseling – organizes a training seminar on "The Synthetic-systemic Model on Family Therapy" on March 29th. The seminar is addressed to the BA (Hons) Psychology students. The main aim of the seminar is to present the Systemic Therapy and the Synthetic-systemic therapeutic model, as well as to analyze the self-report cognitive system, the different stages of the therapy and the various choices the therapist can make during the therapeutic procedure.
On March 16th, the students of the BA Early Childhood Studies programme at AMC visited the «Home of Atopic Dermatitis", an educational programme offered by the Clinic of Paediatric Dermatology of "Penteli" Children's Hospital in Athens.
AKMI Metropolitan College, and more specifically the Faculty of Economics and Business, recently acquired SimVenture, a fascinating business simulation game and a valuable tool for the educational procedure of its students.
On Thursday, March 8th 2012, AMC initiated a brand new, innovative initiative for the Early Childhood Department educational procedure. The “AMC Creativity Lab” is an online lab using a social network platform, which aims to contribute significantly in the development of the students’ creative thinking and is planned to become a basic tool in the hands of the AMC academics and students of the Department.
The students of the Foundation in Art and Design programme participated in an educational visit to the Benaki Museum-Pireos Building on February 8th. The Open Care Centre for the Elderly of Maroussi Municipality in Athens initialized a logotherapy treatment programme, in cooperation with AKMI Metropolitan College. The students of the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme participated as volunteers in the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2011 which took place in Athens between June 25 - July 4. The team participated in the "Healthy Athletes Program" of the Special Olympics. AMC initiates a new collaboration with the Pediatric Institute of Greece, by hosting the institute's training seminars in cooperation with the Upledger [USA and UK] on Cranio Sacral Therapy. Pediatric Institute (PED.I.) is a private center, that was founded in 2005 by Eliza Maglari, a Pediatric Occupational Therapist. PED.I.'s objective is to provide qualitative and specialized services (occupational speech, oral-motor, sensorimotor therapies, special education, socialization and psychological support) to children aged 0-18 years, psychological support and education to parents, along with continuing education to professionals in the areas of health and rehabilitation.
AMC was one of the invited institutions to present a paper in the annual ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) convention in Philadelphia, the biggest Logotherapy scientific event in the world. Dr Chariklia Proiou (PhD / CCC-SLP), Lecturer and Course Leader of the Department of Logotherapy in AKMI Metropolitan College Thessaloniki, represented our institution in the most important event for the science of Logotherapy.

Με θέμα ο ΣΑΙΞΠΗΡ ΣΗΜΕΡΑ ανοίγει το Festival Olive Network. Από τις 6 έως τις 11 Σεπτεμβρίου του 2010, η διάσημη σχολή Θεάτρου του Μιλάνου, Πάολο Γκράσσι, φιιλοξενεί στην πανεπιστημιακή της έδρα το Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Olive. Το πρόγραμμα Olive δημιουργήθηκε πριν από 13 χρόνια από μια ιδέα του καθηγητή και σκηνοθέτη Dr Βλάντιμιρ Τζέβντοβιτς της Εθνικής Σχολής Θεάτρου του Βελιγραδίου, σαν μια πρωτοβουλία σπουδής και πολυπολιτισμικής συνεργασίας των θεατρικών σχολών και των πανεπιστημιακών τμημάτων της Μεσογείου.
Στις 25 Μαϊου 2010 υπογράφηκε απο τον Πρόεδρο της Ελληνικής Δημοκρατίας το Προεδρικό Διάταγμα Αρ. 38 που αφορά στην αναμενόμενη απο σειρά ετών ενσωμάτωση στο Ελληνικό Δίκαιο της Ευρωπαϊκής Οδηγίας Νο 36/2005 περί επαγγελματικών Δικαιωμάτων. Στα πλαίσια αναβάθμισης της πλατφόρμας ηλεκτρονικής εκμάθησης, το τμήμα Νέων Τεχνολογιών προέβη στην ένταξη δύο νέων υπηρεσιών στην ηλεκτρονική πλατφόρμα του κολλεγίου: Online Testing – Η υπηρεσία αυτή προσφέρει τη δυνατότητα της ηλεκτρονικής εξέτασης φοιτητών σε τεστ πολλαπλών επιλογών, διασφαλίζοντας τη μέγιστη αξιοκρατική βαθμολόγηση. Οι ερωτήσεις που εμφανίζονται σε κάθε φοιτητή είναι τυχαία επιλεγμένες από ένα σύνολο ερωτήσεων και οι πιθανές απαντήσεις εμφανίζονται με τυχαία σειρά.
Μετά την επιτυχή διοργάνωση των πρωταθλημάτων ποδοσφαίρου 5x5 και μπάσκετ 3x3 για τη προηγούμενη χρονιά, το κολλέγιο διοργανώνει εκ νέου τα αντίστοιχα φετινά πρωταθλήματα. Το τμήμα Νέων Τεχνολογιών εύχεται στις ομάδες της καλή επιτυχία, εκφράζοντας τη πεποίθηση ότι θα διατηρήσουν τα σκήπτρα που θριαμβευτικά κατέκτησαν στα προηγούμενα πρωταθλήματα!
Το τμήμα Νέων Τεχνολογιών προσκαλεί όλους τους φοιτητές της στην έκθεση προϊόντων και υπηρεσιών Internet Web World Expo 2009, η οποία διοργανώνεται το διήμερο 24 – 25 Οκτωβρίου 2009 στο Ζάππειο Μέγαρο. Προσκλήσεις δωρεάν εισόδου διατίθενται από τη Γραμματεία της Σχολής.

Με αφορμή την ολοκλήρωση του ακαδημαϊκού έτους 2008-09, θα πραγματοποιηθεί για ακόμη μία χρονιά η παρουσίαση των κορυφαίων διπλωματικών εργασιών. Οι φοιτητές Κώστας Μπαρδάκας - University of Wales Bangor και Γιάννης Ζαφειρίου – Cyprus College, πέτυχαν την υψηλότερη βαθμολογία στις πτυχιακές τους εργασίες με θέματα “Creating a SoHo PBX” και “Ανάπτυξη Ιδιωτικού Τηλεφωνικού Κέντρου VoIP” αντίστοιχα. Στο χώρο της βιβλιοθήκης του Μητροπολιτικού Κολεγίου Αθηνών θα πραγματοποιηθεί η ετήσια έκθεση παρουσίασης των εργασιών των σπουδαστών.
Ο φοιτητής του Μητροπολιτικού Κολεγίου Αθηνών Νίκος Ζερμπίνος, παρακολουθώντας το πρόγραμμα σπουδών Electronic Engineering του University of Wales Bangor, βραβεύθηκε με το βραβείο Dr. RHC Newton, το οποίο απονέμεται ετησίως στον δευτεροετή φοιτητή που επιτυγχάνει την υψηλότερη βαθμολογία σε ενότητα μαθηματικής φύσεως. Πέραν της απονομής του βραβείου, θα του απονεμηθεί η προβλεπόμενη συμπληρωματική επιταγή στην τιμητική εκδήλωση που θα πραγματοποιηθεί κατά την έναρξη του χειμερινού εξαμήνου 2009-10.
Το Αναρρωτήριο Πεντέλης (πρώην ΠΙΚΠΑ) επισκέφθηκαν οι φοιτητές του Προγράμματος Λογοθεραπείας του AKMI Metropolitan College, συνοδεία καθηγητριών. Με πρωτοβουλία των δευτεροετών φοιτητών, είχαν συγκεντρωθεί πολλά ρούχα, παιχνίδια και βιβλία, τα οποία παρέδωσαν οι φοιτητές στις κοινωνικές λειτουργούς του Αναρρωτηρίου. Στο πνεύμα του καρναβαλιού, οι φοιτητές, με αποκριάτικες μάσκες και παιχνίδια, δημιούργησαν μια ατμόσφαιρα “πάρτι” στο χώρο του Αναρρωτηρίου, δίνοντας χαρά στα παιδιά που φιλοξενούνται εκεί.
To AKMI Metropolitan College επαληθεύει τη πρωτοποριακή του θέση στον τομέα των νέων τεχνολογιών και υποδέχεται τη CISCO στο ακαδημαϊκό του περιβάλλον. Σε συνεργασία με την ακαδημία CICSO, το AMC έχει εγκριθεί ως Local Academy και παρέχει εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα που οδηγούν στην απόκτηση των αναγνωρισμένων επαγγελματικών πιστοποιήσεων Certified Computer Network Associate (CCNA) και Certified Computer Network Professional (CCNP).
Το AKMI Metropolitan College και η Oracle Greece ανακοίνωσαν την έναρξη της συνεργασίας τους σε ακαδημαικό επίπεδο. Συγκεκριμένα το AMC είναι το πρώτο και το μόνο κολλέγιο στην Ελλάδα το οποίο θα υλοποιεί το Oracle Workforce Development programme σε συνεργασία με το Οracle University, δίνοντας την ευκαιρία στους φοιτηtές του να πιστοποιηθούν απο την Oracle ως Oracle Database Certified Associates και Oracle Database Certified Proffessionals.
Παραμένοντας πιστό στις θεμελιώδεις αρχές του για προστασία και διαφύλαξη του περιβάλλοντος, το AKMI Metropolitan College για μία ακόμη φορά πρωτοστατεί. Σε μια προσπάθεια ευαισθητοποίησης των φοιτητών, των καθηγητών καθώς και του μόνιμου προσωπικού του, το AMC αποδεικνύει έμπρακτα τη δέσμευση του για ένα καλύτερο και πιο “πράσινο” περιβάλλον με την τοποθέτηση κάδων ανακύκλωσης (γυαλιού, χαρτιού, πλαστικού και αλουμινίου) σε πολλαπλά σημεία τόσο στους εσωτερικούς όσο και στους εξωτερικούς χώρους του Κολεγίου.

Από το 2004, το AKMI Metropolitan College, στα πλαίσια των εκπαιδευτικών και υποστηρικτικών υπηρεσιών που παρέχει στους φοιτητές και στο ακαδημαϊκό προσωπικό του, εφαρμόζει τις υπηρεσίες που προσφέρει η πλατφόρμα ασύγχρονης τηλεκπαίδευσης Moodle. Μέσα από την πλατφόρμα Moodle, κάθε ένας από τους συμμετέχοντες, με τον προσωπικό του κωδικό πρόσβασης, μπορεί να δουλέψει στο δικό του χωρικό και χρονικό πλαίσιο.
Στα πλαίσια της συνεχούς εκπαίδευσης και περαιτέρω εξέλιξης του ακαδημαϊκού προσωπικού του, το Μητροπολιτικό Κολλέγιο διοργάνωσε σειρά εκπαιδευτικών σεμιναρίων. Τα σεμινάρια πραγματοποιήθηκαν στις κτιριακές εγκαταστάσεις του εκπαιδευτικού οργανισμού ΑΚΜΗ στο κέντρο της Αθήνας (Κοδριγτώνος 16) και στο campus του Κολλεγίου στο Μαρούσι. 1ος κύκλος 12- 16 /1/2009 καθημερινά 10.00- 18.00 και 2ος κύκλος 16-20/3/2009 καθημερινά 10.00- 18.00.
Η ταχύτατη ανάπτυξη του διαδικτύου έχει δώσει τη δυνατότητα στους νέους να έχουν πρόσβαση σε πλήθος επιστημονικών άρθρων και μελετών. Για την αξιοποίηση αυτού του υλικού απαραίτητη είναι η πλήρης κατανόηση των πληροφοριών που αναφέρονται καθώς και η δημιουργική επανασύνδεση των νοημάτων καθώς και να γίνει και η κατάλληλη παραπομπή στον συγγραφέα και το έργο του. Δυστυχώς όμως είναι σύνηθες το φαινόμενο να λαμβάνονται αυτούσια κομμάτια ενός κειμένου ή μελέτης δηλαδή να γίνεται λογοκλοπή (plagiarism).
Το τμήμα Λογοθεραπείας του AKMI Metropolitan College είναι το μοναδικό Ακαδημαϊκό τμήμα ιδιωτικού εκπαιδευτικού ιδρύματος που συμμετέχει σε ερευνητικές δραστηριότητες, οι οποίες διεξάγονται από το Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης.
Η τελετή αποφοίτησης είναι ένας σπουδαίος θεσμός για το AMC. Στο τέλος κάθε χρονιάς πραγματοποιείται μια λαμπρή εκδήλωση με τη συμμετοχή συγγενών και φίλων των αποφοίτων, καθηγητών, καθώς και της διοίκησης του Εκπαιδευτικού Ομίλου ΑΚΜΗ, στην οποία απονέμονται τα πτυχία στους τελειόφοιτους όπως στα μεγαλύτερα πανεπιστήμια του εξωτερικού. Πρόκειται για μια σπουδαία στιγμή για τους αποφοίτους καθώς ολοκληρώνουν την ακαδημαϊκή τους εκπαίδευση και είναι έτοιμοι να ενταχθούν στον επαγγελματικό στίβο.
Το AKMI Metropolitan College πρωτοπόρο στο χώρο της εκπαίδευσης από το νέο ακαδημαϊκό έτος εντάσσει στα διαθέσιμα προγράμματά σπουδών του το B.A. in Dance. Πρόκειται για ένα σπουδαίο πρόγραμμα που θα δίνει τη δυνατότητα απόκτησης πανεπιστημιακού πτυχίου μετά από 3 χρόνια σπουδών. Ενόψει του νέου προγράμματος πραγματοποιήθηκε Master Dance Class με τίτλο “Σύγχρονο Χοροθέατρο”, από την παγκοσμίου φήμης χορογράφο Dr Ana Sanchez-Coldberg, όπου παρουσίασε την τεχνική της και τις χορογραφικές της ικανότητες.
Δυναμικό παρόν έδωσε το AMC, στη Διεθνή Έκθεση Εκπαίδευσης. Σε μία από τις σημαντικότερες διεθνείς εκδηλώσεις στον χώρο της εκπαίδευσης, το AKMI Metropolitan College αποτέλεσε πόλο έλξης τόσο για εκατοντάδες μαθητές, γονείς και φοιτητές όσο και για ενδιαφερόμενους εκπαιδευτικούς και επαγγελματίες που αναζητούν ποιοτικά προγράμματα εκπαίδευσης. Στόχος της παρουσίας του AKMI Metropolitan College στην έκθεση ήταν η ενημέρωση του κοινού για τα ακαδημαϊκά προγράμματα που παρέχει σε συνεργασία με κορυφαία εκπαιδευτικά ιδρύματα.
Το AKMI Metropolitan College σε συνεργασία με το κορυφαίο πανεπιστημιακό ίδρυμα της Αγγλίας Roehampton University προσφέρει σε αποκλειστικότητα προπτυχιακά και μεταπτυχιακά προγράμματα σπουδών στους τομείς της Μετάφρασης, της Μεταγλώττισης και του Υποτιτλισμού.
Οι σπουδάστριες του τμήματος Παιδαγωγικών του AKMI METROPOLITAN COLLEGE, στα πλαίσια των σπουδών τους και με αφορμή τις εορταστικές ημέρες των Χριστουγέννων, διοργάνωσαν θεατρικό δρώμενο και εικαστικά εργαστήρια για τα παιδιά «των φαναριών». Τα παιδιά φιλοξενούνται στη Μη Κυβερνητική Οργάνωση «Κοινωνική και Εκπαιδευτική Δράση».
